'Why I Hate Katy Perry' (Someone Had To Say It)

My review: Katy Perry is the Americanized Amy Winehouse, a terrible version of a British talented singer who wrote and make music to her own songs however bad is her reputation of being a junkie-Amy winehouse is original. What followed after was the likes of Duffy and now Katy Perry who cannot sing live and who doesn't have the voice that supports the 'jazz music era'  for example Ella Fitsgerald. Amy winehouse's songs are jazzy, original, unique drum beats and tunes compared to today's saturated mainstream music. Katy Perry is the bad cover version that ONLY dress up for the part. :)

holy shit, katy perry is one of the worst "artists" ( I'm sorry to all the actual artists for having to have used that term on her) there is. she has NO talent. her songs are absolute bullshit. and her voice is terrible-god it gives me a fuckin headache to listen to her especially live. wtf is this: "youre hot and youre cold, youre yes then youre no, youre in and youre out, youre up and youre down" are you kidding me??? a hippo could write better lyrics than that!!! its terrible!I remember in grade 7 this guy in my class wrote this poem,till this day, it was one of the most beautiful things i had ever read. all the teachers were shocked. now, when a kid half the age of ou can write something SOOOOO much better you KNOW you suck.

Katy Perry is overrated and just downright boring

I can't say I know that much about her. But I'm not a fan. At all.

She is TALENTED... she is funny and pretty. Dont hate on someone who has actually worked to be where she is today. She has been in the music scene for a while too. Its not like she just woke up one day and said HEY this is what I want.. she worked and now it is paying off. Maybe you should be taking notes?

Katy Perry is comlpletely what is wrong with American Pop Culture!!!  Yes, she is absolutely gorgeous!  Yes, she works hard at what she does!  However, are we forgetting one big critical factor???? 

The girl has absolutely No Frickin Talent!!!!  I have had bowel movements that have possessed more talent in one of their flakes than she has in her entire body!

I have seen many, many talented people.  Either by luck, or circumstance of this ever so driven "looks" world, these people remain playing in dives, bars, or, if they're lucky, a small venue in an"off the beaten path" city.  These folks, truly have talent, but because they are no longer in their late teens or early twenties and don't have "Six Pack Abs" or "36-24-36" figure with "Eyes that Pierce" or a "Smile that could Kill", they are destined to be only Local Heroes.

Katy Perry has no talent!!!!  She is simply a product of the industry!  I would rather have a root canal with no novocaine than hear her sing live.  Does anyone remember when she performed on American Idol???  All these hopefull new singers that have an immense amount of talent were getting criticized by the judges....then....Katy comes on stage and attempts to sing (I use the word sing very loosely) "Waking up in Vegas". 

To say she was attrocious would be an understatement!  I mean, how can you criticize a nearly perfect performance by one of the final 4 of American Idol, and then, in a split second, stand up and applaud the Hollywood Induced piece of Ass Vomit that the American public was just forced to listen to for over 3 minutes?????

Again, the only reason why we know Katy Perry's name is because some half ass song writer found a 5 foot nothing, 105 pound BIMBO with rockin abs and beatiful eyes to "attempt to sing" their song!  To think that she makes millions for mutilating songs written by other talented people just kills me.  I know that I can't carry a tune even in a bucket, but yet she seems to think she can.  Katy, Honey, you couldn't carry a Tune with a Fork Lift, Dump Truck, and Seven Dwarf's following behind you.  Face reality, and do the only thing that you were destined for.......A stripper in Vegas, or maybe if you're lucky, a spread in Maxim.  I would say Playboy, but I don't think you have the "Class" to be in that publication.

This picture was taken August 19th, 2008 at Six Flags Great America in Maryland. Katy Perry took part in the VMA Tour along with artists like All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Metro Station, Shwayze, and Tyga. During her hit single "I Kiss a Girl", everybody was singing along and dancing in the audience. She puts on a great preformance and dedicates herself. She may not be the biggest role model, but you can tell she loves what she does. You has a lot of energy and great fashion sense. This was a great expierence seeing her, I was looking forward to it greatly.

I took this picture at Six Flags Over Texas this summer. Katy is a good performer. I may not agree with all of her lyrics but she can sing. Her back ground is in Christian Music from what I have read. Maybe this is her way of rebelling against her up brining.
Her songs are fun and catch adn a little rough but nothing too over the top.

hates katy perry. shes so obnoxious and thinks shes all hot and cute. with her stupid "kissy-faces" and all, it makes me wonder what our country has come to anymore. Her song "Thinking of you" is horrible. Its like, a dead squirell singing. but its worse. its like, i have to shut the radio off when her songs come on.

I bet this "Ellen" person has heard the song i kissed a girl once and based her whole review on that. Plus she is obviously in love with Zooey Deschanel, and her fans all seem to hate katy. Just because they look alike doesnt mean you can only like one:P I think katy has worked her way to succes and has a lot of talent. I hope she will be around for a while

I think her music in studio is good.  But its clearly enhanced pr something.  Every live recording of her sounds so off pitch and sctratchy very dissapointed.  I couldn't listen to her live performance (especially the one on youtube live).  She's also super cocky.

She is fake. What ever she does she has record sales in her mind. I guess that's why she sells more than real musicians that concentrate on music.

Okay, I don't know if I'd say I "hate" Katy Perry, but let's just say I can't stand her.  Her songs are LAME, at least those I've heard, and she seems like all hype and is far too overrated.  "I Kissed a Girl" was boring and cliche, that type of song was done years before.  Her voice is crap and she's mediocre at best, so that's the only way she can draw attention to herself by trying to do something controversial.  And as far as her being pretty, her looks even bother me, with those eyes always bugging out like she's trying so desperately hard to be "cute".  Oh yeah, and one last thing, Katy, PLEASE take Adam's name of your ugly Elvis cape!  Some of us actually want him to win Idol!

alright. she has a lot of talent, her songs are about relating to us in a fun way, not racist. it's not like, other singers have the guts to be fun & funny, like she is. if you got to know her, you would love her, watch some newer live performances, they are great, some she is sick in, so don't bash her. i don't bash lady gaga, or anyone, now do  i, no.
