Toronto--For the past few years, people are weaning away from the movie theatres. There are numerous reasons ranging from ticket prices, long working hours, Internet access, DVDs, more stuff to do and there are rotten choices at the movies.

I would like to discuss about the the slow decline of movies. The movies costs millions of bucks and far and few good movies comes along that one can say are good quality or memorable. Sometimes when I saw some of the movies, ie: Finding Amanda, Definitely, Maybe, I was in agony. The characters were in the long stretches of pain that I am not enjoying myself at all. The movies have more of a feel of a reality component that takes away the viewing enjoyment. I do not have sympathy with the characters, nor do I feel they are funny at all. There are more parody movies that more or less telling the sad state of the movie industry. Even 3rd Rock, the TV show is telling the story of what a sorry state of the TV industry or real life it can be(as an example). There are movies that tried too hard to be funny, because they are so unmemorable that I could not even finish the movie. As a writer, recycled plots are not friendlier as recycle coffee grounds. It does not mean sparkly new plotlines or innovation will guarantee multimillion dollar box office on the weekends and a gold boy Oscar. With such volatile economy and attention span of an average person less then 30 seconds, it's so important that executives or creators to open their ears to the masses. No worries, we will be bored without you, movies:).
