Now that the Katy Perry-Russell Brand divorce papers have been filed, there will no doubt plenty of speculation as to what caused the split? After all, Katy Perry is considered one of the most desirable women on the planet.

It's early but there's already plenty of speculation about the cause of the Russell Brand-Katy Perry divorce.

As with any divorce, it's hard for any outsider to properly explain why two people decide to dissolve a marriage. That, of course, won't stop tabloids from making a few educated guesses.

Us Magazine has been all over the story. The magazine claims that Brand and Perry had a huge fight over where to spend their 2011 Christmas holidays.

The magazine also reports that there may have been some tension over religion. There is speculation that Brand may not have been totally comfortable with Perry's Christian beliefs.

"Katy doesn't think Russell respects her parents' Christian beliefs or her friends," a source told US Magazine.
