MySpace, Wikipedia and countless others are validating the claim that SF is the new center of the media universe:

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The headquarters of Wikipedia.com, operator of the online encyclopedia, is relocating in January from St. Petersburg, Fla., to San Francisco.

"San Francisco is the center of high-tech in the United States and will give the foundation access to a rich array of resources," Florence Devouard, chair of the Wikimedia Foundation, said in a statement.

Wikipedia was founded in 2001 and provides over 8 million online encyclopedia entries in 250 languages, including 2 million in English.
