The question on many minds today appears to be whether Lil Wayne will have to get his hair cut off wheh he goes to prison, now that he has been sentenced to one year in jail?

Anyone who is a Lil Wayne fan knows, he's known for his dreadlocks, and has even been single-handedly responsible for bringing the hairstyle back in to the mainstream, but what about when he goes to prison? Will he be allowed to keep his dreadlocks?

The blog FlyStyleLife asked a lawyer this very question and the outcome does not look good for Lil Wayne:

“Male prisoners are only allowed to wear their hair in cornrows, going straight back. And they can’t exceed the ‘natural hairline’ in length.” Now of course our question is: what does ‘natural hairline’ mean?

“It means it can’t extend the neck.” But there is one loop-hole in the issue – though I’m not sure it’s going to help Wayne. “Prisoners who claim Rastafarri as their religion are allowed in most cases to keep their locks. But even then there’s a process to determine if it’s genuine.”

So chances are he's not going to get to keep his dreads, and if this happens there will be pictures all over the web of Lil Wayne with his hair cut off. But for now, his hair is the same it looks like.
