Reports are rampant on the internet today claiming that the fourth book in The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, will be made into two separate movies. While many online sources claim that this news is confirmed and final, there seems to be a lack of actual confirmation. Twihard fans can turn to their reliable Twilight source Gossip Cop for details, and his source at Summit confirms nothing has been decided yet. What we do know so far, is that Summit is leaning in the direction of making Breaking Dawn into two separate movies, so it is highly likely at this point.

The decision about whether or not to make Breaking Dawn into two movies is all about logistics. Stephenie Meyer's novel is 754 pages long and would therefore be pretty difficult to adapt into one single film. Most Twilight fans believe that making Breaking Dawn into two movies is a wiser choice as the story's rich detail won't have to be cut short.

The official word given to Gossip Cop from a rep for Summit is, “No decision has been made and as we have said all along we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen.”

While nothing is set in stone yet, Gossip Cop's Summit source suggests that making Breaking Dawn into two movies will be the most practical decision. Breaking Dawn parts 1 and 2 would be shot back-to-back and released separately. From a financial point of view, this decision also makes the most sense.

The Harry Potter series should be example enough with the highly anticipated Deathly Hallows films. Part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released in theatres November 19th 2010 leaving fans wanting more for the film's second installment in the New Year. It is likely Twilight will follow the same course with the final book being made to last on the big screen.
