In recent years, good efforts have been made to advance the cause of peace through dialogue, but as time passes, the concept of bound communities talking across lines of separation is proving to be an insufficient starting point toward the outcome of a peaceful world. Our collective wisdom memorialized in the shared narrative of our sacred and secular stories has proven a way to break the deadlock binding dialogue-based peace efforts.

There are a great many events and activities planned to take place in New York City in this season to commemorate the upcoming 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our city and our nation. Important among them is the education and conversation series taking place at the 92nd Street Y, entitled Searching for Answers in a Post-9/11 World.

Of particular note in this series is the September 8, 2011 evening with Emmy Award winner, Arthur Miller in public dialogue with the Wisdom Thinkers Network. The core thrust of the conversation is to examine in light of the rapid swirl of events on 9/11 and in the weeks and months immediately after, whether new core thinking can elevate us from the growing division that resulted from these tragic events.
