Early Friday estimates for Wolverine are $34.75 million. We're looking at a possible $80-90 million opening weekend. For comparison, last year's Iron Man opened with $98.6 million. Although anything can happen. Critical review for Wolverine has been low as well as word of mouth from fans and audiences. So, there could be a drop tomorrow and Sunday. Also, it's very possible that the movie's overall box office won't be impressive. It'll have a big opening, but that's about it. Star Trek and Terminator will steal most of its business.

UPDATE: Saturday box office is $31 million. The two day total is $66 million.

UPDATE 2: Weekend box office is $87 million, only $2 million more than X2: X-Men United in 2003.

UPDATE 3: The movie made $73 million outside of North America in 101 markets. Its worldwide gross is $160 million. The movie cost $130 million to produce.

I can't believe it could take that much in its opening weekend, it really looks like a bad movie...

I saw the movie on wednesday. I expected the worst, but it was a lot better than I thought. It is not a masterpiece, but the storyline is good and the movie is entertaining. I never got bored for a second when watching it.

I saw it earlier today

in some partsit tried to be too big, and there was one part, just after he has got the claws where he is inspecting them infront of a mirror where the graphics of the claws look absolutely shit.

other than that it wasn't too bad - definitely not as bad as everyone is saying it is.

Interesting, maybe it is worth a watch then, I suppose it fulfills its purpose of a big budget action film with a weaker story.
