Hugh Jackman's sharply-clawed Wolverine movie easily stormed the weekend box office taking in a hefty $85.1 million over its opening weekend.
Although this sizeable take was almost $2 million less than anticipated, it is still an impressive debut, given the movie's decidely lacklustre reviews which have criticized the film for being cliché-ridden and derivative.
What's your take on this X-Men: Origins action adventure?
Should Jackman stick to melodramatic Australian epics and Oscar hosting duties?
According to final studio numbers Monday, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" took in $85.1 million over opening weekend. That's almost $2 million less than 20th Century Fox projected a day earlier.

I saw the movie in theaters even after I watched the pirated version at a friend's place and in all honesty I can say the pirated version was more enjoyable. It's just too much, way too much. It was cool to see the computer animation and graphics without layers and the suspension cables for all of Wolverine's death defying leaps and jumps. I guess it gave a glimpse into movie making which, for me, trumps a sorry excuse for an action movie.

Ryan Reynolds plays Deathpool. Which is enough reason to stick to the comics and never watch this film.
It was just too much. Between Hugh Jackman's naked, waterfall jumping scene and Billy Crudup's blue CGI penis in Watchmen, I'm giving up on my favorite graphic novels ever turning into good movies. Boooooo.
