Women more likely to be arrested in domestic violence

I find this study really bizarre, as I found when I experienced domestic violence, this didn't happen to me.  The man was cautioned and asked to leave the house immediately (which was a massive relief). The police were really good.

How women are being arrested for many of these incidences is very surprising. Of course, men do experience domestic violence even from women, but I just can't see why so many women are getting arrested.

It doesn't state whether these women had reported incidents to the Domestic Violence Officer beforehand, so the police have some background of the information. I was lucky in that the police knew the 'difficult history' beforehand.

Women are three times more likely to be arrested for domestic violence, study shows

A study has found that women are three times more likely to be arrested for domestic violence even though they are more often the victims.

The study, by Professor Marianne Hester of the University of Bristol’s School for Policy Studies, revealed that even though men were the aggressor in 92% of abusive incidents recorded by the police, they were arrested in just 11% of incidents while women were arrested in 32%.
