The World of the Burka
Barry Artiste Op/Ed
Certainly a step in the right direction, one wonders if Parliamentarians should pass a law forcing all Muslim Men who are Pro Burqa to insist they wear the full dress, plus head garb and see how the men like it, especially in 80 degree heat!
As they say, the Burka is 'Not Islamic at all. Just a control tool used by some Muslim men, who cannot control their sexual urges, so must ensure all women are fully covered.
Let's hope Canada follows this lead by Denmark, France and Europe as well.

Danish Conservatives Call for Burqa Ban
Der SPIEGEL
The immigration spokesman for Denmark's Conservative Party is calling for a ban on the wearing of burqas in public. He says the garment was introduced by the Taliban and is "not Islamic at all." Denmark's Conservative Party said this week it wants to introduce a ban on Muslim burqa or niqab dress codes which require women to completely cover their faces in public. "We don't want to see burqas in Denmark. We simply can't accept that some of our citizens walk around with their faces covered," Naser Khader, a Danish member of parliament of Syrian-Palestinian extraction who was recently appointed spokesman for integration issues for the Conservative Party, told the newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
Now Public's Rumana Husain, also has an excellent story on the Burqa, I invite you to visit her link below.

my young nephew was terrified when he saw a couple of women dressed in the Burka. He thought they were black ghosts. The wee soul was near in tears. If anything they should think about how this affect small kids.

Not to mention how it affects the women wearing it, as well as the Mindless Fops in Canada and the West who are Pro Human Rights and think it is a cultural thing and they should leave it alone. Canada being one mindless twit allowing it.

You know Barry that some Islamic culture have the same dress code for Woman as for Man, Such as the Beduins, both have to wear full body cover and head cover.
Some interpretations of the Koran demand that both sexes be humble and shall not lead into temptation, there for cover them self. Ironically the same is in the Bible and was only lost since the 1950s.
My mother was still wearing Head cover and in Japan even though not Christian nor Muslim the same type of closing was common and still is in many rural areas.
Christian in North Africa and the middle east wear similar closing, it is their tradition and culture.
I do not see any one getting worked up about an Orthodox Rabbi or Christian nor about a Buddhist Monk and there Closes. Maybe that is still to come...
I find it more offensive to see people walking around in tiered up Closes or half naked as it is fashion now a days in some Western Countries then wearing once traditional closes.

Agreed, Paschen. Some of the Western clothing is offensive such women with naked midriffs with bulging fat and men in 'torn jeans'. Then there's baseball caps....

It is religious thing , according to some hardliner mulla's. They are determined to enforce it throughout the Islamic world. Maybe it was a cultural thing , but not anymore. As for Budhist and Chiristian areas it still is a cultural matter, but giving way to modern trends.
That is not the case of burka.
Plus, nobody beat up a torn jeans wearer black and blue if he or she does not wear it - not even their gang / pack / group or something.

Thanks for the comments buddy, much appreciated, but Yeah, one point I must stress is how many men walk 10 paces behind a woman, or how many women are out there policing a Mans mode of dress and stoning the crap out of him for non compliance. It has to work both ways my friend for it to be a 100% cultural thing. These womens faces are completely covered in stifling heat, and a lot of them are dressed in Black, where as the men wear white flowing robes to reflect the heat and their faces are not covered. Ya gotta compared Falafel to Falafel not Pita to Stones.

Come on, Just go to Spain or Portugal, there are all good Christian and the Woman still today walk far behind their Husband. I saw Man ridding the Donkey and the Woman folly loaded walking with the kids in Rural Spain still today. Same in some Eastern European countries. It is not religion per say, but an old culture that is still very much alive in large parts of this world. It takes time, and pushing them into a corner will only put them on the defensive and cause segregation and enforce this practice to persist. By the way, even in Orthodox Christian Countries you see the Woman wearing Dark closes and the man walking around in a white suit...Like I said it is a cultural issue, not a religious one per say.

Ha! I agree, I saw one photo in France where a guy is walking empty handed and his wife was carry three large cases of beer for him, that must have weighed like 20 kilos. But then the french wife wasnt covered in a Pizza Hut tablecloth head to toe either.

They are so terrified of the feminine ...What would they do if they all threw off their clothes

Ah, but in deepest Lebanon they sell wonderful belly dancing outfits in the market stalls:-
I have been to a nightclub in Lebanon and yes, they do '" dress down" but it was a great club, fantastic lively arab 'pop' music. Arab music is great to dance too. This nightclub even had kids in it. It was a family thing but it was fun and civilised without the drinking ladettes we have in the UK and blokes just 'wanting to drink themselves silly' and do stupid things. No 'crack heads either'. It was a wonderful experience, without those annoyances, and I haven't been to a British nightclub since.

Lebanon is a christian country for the most part, hence no burkas
