In the World of Politics: Is everyday turkey day? by Rhonda J Mangus

According to CNN senior political analyst Bill Schneider, it is.

Turkeys are foolish creatures -- overstuffed, noisy and self-important. A lot like the politicians on our list of Turkeys of the Year.

Schneider's "Here they are -- the Top 10 Political Turkeys of 2008", includes former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, who earned the number one spot on the list. Mr. Spitzer had to resign because of his involvement with a pricy call-girl service.

The former New York Governor  is  followed by former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards at number 2. Mr. Edwards, after repeatedly denying an affair published in the tabloids, comes out with a public confession of adultery.

Others who made the list include Senator John McCain, Reverend Jermiah Wright, arrogant auto executives, Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, Senator Elizabeth Dole, United States president elect Barack Obama,  Representative Mark Foley, and last, but not least, former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani.
