World’s Ugliest Statues

You know two things about statues as public art: 1) the artist was diligent and very proud of the product, and 2) the community paid a good price to acquire it. Foreignpolicy.com produced a wonderful collection of agreeably ugly statue photos with excellent captions. However, they missed one from my neighborhood.

Washington DC is famous for statues and public monuments, though in Rosslyn Virginia, a stone’s throw across the Potomac River from downtown Washington is what I swear is what competes as one of the world’s ugliest sculptures. (Posted with the story)
