World of Warcraft Movie: Spider-Man's Sam Raimi to Direct

Spider-Man director Sam Raimi will be directing the World of Warcraft movie, according to Warner Bros., Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary pictures.

Raimi, who began with cult classics like Evil Dead, became famous with his treatment of the Spider-Man series. He has been tapped to direct a film based on the insanely popular MMORPG World of Warcraft.

There are over 11 million monthly subscribers to the game, and Blizzard is hoping Raimi's ability to turn projects from one type of media to the next will work in their favor for World of Warcraft.

Sam Raimi, director of the top-grossing "Spider-Man" films, has signed on to direct a film adaptation of the wildly popular videogame "World of Warcraft," Variety.com reports.

THis looks like it should be a really good movie. Why not milk the world of warcraft franchise as much as possible? the game, books, cards, movies, tshirts, whats next???
