Writers Guild Award Nominees Announced

All of the expected heavyweights made it into this year's WGA nomination list.
Nominees include the acclaimed films: “Juno,” “Michael Clayton,” “Knocked Up”, “No Country for Old Men,” “There Will Be Blood,” “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly,” and "Into the Wild".
While on the television side, fan favourites like "The Sopranos", "The Wire", "Entourage", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", and "The Office" were all given the nod.
Winners will be announced on February 9th, but the annual awards dinner has been cancelled (see below), pending resolution to the strike.

Will striking writers boycott this event? I noticed Reality writers now want the WGA to represent them now. No realilty shows were nominated.

Good question on the boycott, Rene. I'm guessing there won't be an event this year (has there been one before? Probably a non-televised luncheon or something), just the quiet distribution of awards. Difficult one. Keep your eyes open for us, Jarrett!

Rene, I believe that no reality shows were nominated due to the fact that guild member written content is the only material eligible for nomination.
