Xbox Live Down: Communication with Servers Interrupted

Hotmail Down Day After XBox Live

Gamers, particularly Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty players, are in a tizzy over the Xbox Live server status with terms "Modern Warfare 2 server status" and "Call of Duty servers down" skyrocketing up to the top of Google Trends. But fear not, the Xbox team has already acknowledged the server status issue and is working to rectify the server interruption but they do not know when Xbox Live will be back up.

Robert Bowling, possibly better know by his Twitter handle fourzerotwo, the creative strategist behind Modern Warfare 2 tweeted about the Xbox Live severs being down earlier earlier today.

We're aware of the issues folks are having with LIVE as of a few minutes ago. Hang tight, the right folks are working on it.

Apparently the issue is not logging onto Xbox Live as most gamers have noted that they can log on but cannot play games online.

Yea i know the problem, ive had it with my gamecube ps1 ps2 ps3 and my pc to! i dont kn0w what to do :O could you please help me?? please mail me ;) oh and btw my nintendo 64 has strange interruptions to.. just like my gameboy >< nothing works !! Its like a EMP ;s.
