Zsa Zsa Gabor Husband: Frederic Von Anhalt Wants To Plastinate Body Of His Wife

As the life of the ill 93 year old star Zsa Zsa Gabor draws to an end, her husband Frederic Von Anhalt, is talking about how he would like to immortalize his wife. His choice, Plastination.

"My wife has always dreamt that her beauty would be immortal," Frederic von Anhalt said, "I would like to show the plastinated body of Zsa Zsa Gabor in the context of a scene in one of her films."

Plastination is a unique technique of tissue preservation developed by Dr. Gunther von Hagens in Heidelberg, Germany in 1978. In this process, water and lipids in biological tissues are replaced by curable polymers (silicone, epoxy, polyester) which are subsequently hardened, resulting in dry, odorless and durable specimens. The class of polymer used determines the optical (transparent or opaque) and mechanical (flexible or firm) properties of the impregnated specimen.

The process of Plastination is most well known from the touring Body Worlds exhibit which depicts the detailed anatomical structure of the human form.

Frederic Von Anhalt wants to work with the Plastination's developer, Dr. Van Hagens.

Zsa Zsa Gabor, the legendary Hungarian born star, has been ailing for some time now.
