Thirty cyclists have joined the first "critical mass" ride in Guernsey to promote pedal power and get more people out of their cars.

Critical mass is part of a worldwide phenomenon to celebrate safe cycling which has spread to Guernsey.

Promoter Adam Greenfield said: "There was a great atmosphere and most motorists were considerate of us."

In London, where it takes place every month, organisers have just won a legal battle against it being banned.
