The Downtown
Austin Neighborhood Association (DANA) is holding its 4th Annual
Downtown Living Tour Sunday, September 30th, from noon to 5 pm.  The event showcases homes and the benefits of
living in downtown Austin.

The Downtown Living Tour attracts over 1,000 participants each year and
generates over $15K for DANA sponsored activities and charities.  Participants have taken walking tours of
downtown residences such as the Milago Condominiums, 5 Fifty Five, Austin City Lofts,
Brazos Lofts, Avenue Lofts, Plaza Lofts, and single-family homes on Congress
and in the Rainey Street district. Last year, DANA donated over $4K of proceeds
from the tour to the Town Lake Trail Foundation.

This year's tour will feature a different set of residences and
model units showcasing upcoming developments, special offers from 2nd Street retailers, and happy
hours (5 - 7 pm) following the tour at participating downtown bars and
restaurants.  VIP ticket holders will
finish out the day with music, food, and drinks at the new Mexican-American
Cultural Center from 6:30 - 9 pm.

"While the tour primarily promotes living opportunities, it
also highlights retail and entertainment options, as well as transportation,
non-profit, and other downtown services," says Rob McDaniel.  McDaniel is on DANA's steering committee and
is coordinating this year's tour.
"On a typical day, a downtown resident can go to work, shop, relax
in the park, and go out to dinner, all without getting in a car."

Tickets are available through DANA's web site at www.downtownaustin.org/DLT.html.  Prices range from $15 for DANA members to $40
for non-members who attend the VIP party.
The Austin Parks Foundation will receive a portion of the proceeds from
this year’s tour.

The tour's title sponsor this year is Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS.  "We are excited to be a part of this
year's tour. There is a lot of interest in all of the new residential buildings
going up downtown," says Coldwell Banker's Monte Franke.

DANA's mission is to
improve the quality of life for those who live, work and play downtown. DANA influences
decisions that affect downtown, educates and listens to residents and
stakeholders about downtown and issues that affect them, and fosters a downtown
community through social events.
