MANILA, Philippines - The death toll from a powerful typhoon that cut across the northern Philippines rose Friday to at least 48 with dozens of people missing in floods and landslides as residents mounted a massive cleanup, officials said.

Another source, erico06 took his photographs from his office window. He thought the damage was bad from above until he drove home, viewing trees uprooted and lamp posts sprawled across the road.

which bore a max of 150 kph gusts of winds. the storm crippled most of
the basic services of Metro Manila and other provinces: prolonged power
outage that paralyzed the Metro and i think most part of Luzon (it's
been 2 days as of writing), water services were cut, transportation
came to a halt (MRT and LRT did not operate) thus people were stranded,
communication lines down due to damaged cell sites, power outage and
other landlines were also damaged.taken using a Sony Ericsson K500."
