Back by popular demand: Windows XP.

PC maker Dell Inc. said on its website Thursday it will once again let home PC buyers choose between Microsoft Corp.'s older operating system and Windows Vista when they purchase certain new machines.

Nice find. I remember Palm doing the same thing when the Windows Mobile-based Treo came out; customers still wanted the Palm OS-based version. Vista is, after so many years in development, not ready for prime time, and purchasers seem to be growing angrier and angrier at the complications associated with "upgrading" to Vista.

Windows is still Windows. When they start to sell machines with Linux, that will be NEWS!

I bought a smokin' Dell system in Nov 06,  before Vista came out.  At the time I did a bit of reasearch and FOR MY USAGE couldn't see any advantage to upgrading to Vista.  It's good that consumers can choose.
