"imagine the hullabaloo if a bunch of gay Mexicans ever decided to burn a flag" <--- Imagine the hullabaloo if a gay Mexican and a gay American decided to enter a same-gender marriage. That would be a combination of two controversial issues -- Gay Marriage + Citizenship. And it would make an even better news story, if ICE made the arrest at the marriage ceremony.

In Canada where same sex marriage legal, you have the same problem, my partner is Canadian, I am from the USA, and we both are HIV positive, if they find out that I'm here ( in Canada ) it could mean the end of our nearly 10 year relationship.
Homosexuals are not seen as real people, we're seen as tolerated aberrations, sick people whom compassion is afforded and some amout of acceptance, but we don't have real families, only partners, that can be exchanged in the flash of a disco strobe light.
The USA won't let my partner in because he's HIV + and Canada won't let me in because I'm HIV +, my partner needs me, because he has a mental illness, and I need him because I love him.
I'm always hoping that some rich person will hear of our plight, and offer assitance, because thats all it is, it's all about money, can you afford a good lawyer. If not you hide in plain site and pray.
there is an organization that has been helping us, they are pretty good people - www.stompouthate.org
but then it's not a porno site so it's not very interesting I suppose.
