Here is a different option for those of you who love meditation but hate lululemon.

DIY Dharma - an Outlaw Buddhist Meditation Group for rebels, outcasts, activists, punks, geeks, queers and troublemakers meeting Tuesdays 7:30-9pm at memelab.
The "coolest and most grounded" group of meditators in Vancouver (or so says they say at Beyondrobson.com). No one in the group claims leadership. Instead, anyone who's interested can lead the session, so long as it fits in the school of Theravadan Buddhism <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theravada> (which emphasizes personal experience and critical reasoning as the means towards wisdom). Beginners and first-timers are always welcome. D.I.Y.D. is a consistently gentle, positive, and non-dogmatic way for anyone to start a once a week meditation, or to deepen their practice through the group setting. The group meets up for optional stretching and chilling out before introductions and about 50 minutes of meditating. You do get a somewhat younger gang than other meditation groups, and you'll definitely see a lot more tats and body mods. But otherwise, it's just a chill time to hang out and breathe. And breathe easy 'cause there's no cost to go.

It's an ongoing event at memelab, the awesome venuespace project of Jesse Scott / Mirae Rosner located at:
