For Active Duty Military members and their families 2007
will be another tight year as the Department of Defense announces a 2.2 percent
across-the-board pay raise, effective January 1. Virginia Penrod, DoD’s
director of military compensation, said the 2.2 percent across-the-board pay
raise – which kicks in Jan. 1, matches the employment cost index for the year.
ECI measures the growth in private-sector wages. Current law ties any military
pay raise to the index.
