Across the intersection of Union and University avenue from Stauffer Library is the stately Douglas Library. The hallowed halls of this elderly stone building are devoted to the storage of Engineering and Science materials- so if you are looking for Chaucer, cross the street. If you are looking for some really old, dusty engineering journals, you are in the right place.

Actually, Douglas Library houses the Engineering and Science Library as well as the W.D. Jordan Special Collections and Music Library. Both of these libraries contain wonderful treasures. Here's a link to some of the rarer treasures in Special Colections. And the Reading Rooms on the top floor bring back lots of memories for alumni - the 1923 Reading Room and the North Reading Room (less purple than in earlier times but as passionate).
