MADRID (AFP) - Persistent drought across much of Spain may threaten supplies of drinking water to some two million people in the south of the country within weeks, according to government forecasts. With reservoir reserves running low, 71 communes in the regions around Murcia and Alicante in the southeast could find supplies threatened unless the rains come by October, the government warned.
