Burgos Cathedral

The Sint Jan cathedral in the town on Den Bosch, Netherlands, recently unveiled its newest addition -- a stained-glass window depicting the 9/11 attacks. It's built of twenty panes depicting heaven and hell; the bottom pane shows the World Trade Center as "hell on earth," according to its creator:

"It was an assignment by the church to make a stained glass window that was related to the spirit of this time," Mulders 48, said on his Web site, adding that he sees the WTC attacks as an image that speaks vividly to all people.

More explanation is available at the artists's homepage. And for more pictures of Sint Jan's cathedral and of unusual stained-glass windows, check out our gallery at right.
