East Ridge Firefighters Battle A Fully Involved Pickup Truck Fire

Tennessee - Monday, November 20,2006 - 4:45 pm - East Ridge Firefighters were alerted to a vehicle fire in the parking lot of the Sear Essentials store on the corner of McBrien Road and South Terrace. Commander Eric Bowen, with East Ridge Fire Department was first on the scene.

Commander Bowen reported a working vehicle fire with the cab heavily involved. Within seconds, East Ridge Squad 1 arrived on the scene and Engineer Kenny Custer immediately pulled an inch and ¾ hose line from the rescue pumper. Engineer James Burkhart quickly exited the cab of the engine and started pumping the truck.
