With the Midterm elections only hours away this is a large blow to those politicans who support Rumsfeld. Active military leaders have joined the call for the Secretary to step down. This editorial has been published in large scale print which will reach all of Americas service men and women including the Navy, Marines, and the Air Force. While some Republicans have distanced themselves from Bush in this election cycle those who have stayed the course with Bush essentially stay the course with Rumsfeld. Could this help the Democrats and the Anti- Stay the course campaigns across the US?

For two years, American sergeants, captains and majors training the Iraqis have told their bosses that Iraqi troops have no sense of national identity, are only in it for the money, don’t show up for duty and cannot sustain themselves.

Meanwhile, colonels and generals have asked their bosses for more troops. Service chiefs have asked for more money.

And all along, Rumsfeld has assured us that things are well in hand.
