WASHINGTON - Presidential candidate John Edwards is embracing a position that has been political suicide in the past — admitting he would raise taxes.
The last person to employ this strategery was Walter Mondale, who in the 1984 Presidential election managed to win his home state of Minnesota and the District of Columbia. Only problem was that Ronald Reagan took the other 49 states in the most lopsided race in recent history.
