November 9, 2006 A black electrical box short-circuited and caught fire in Brightwater about 5.30pm yesterday. Wakefield chief fire officer Wayne Forward said two people in Ellis St, Brightwater, had noticed a burning smell all day. The fire, which had the "potential to be quite dangerous'', took about 15 minutes to extinguish, he said. The Brightwater Volunteer Fire Brigade also attended the blaze.
