The frozen remains of a family pet would never pop up as an arson suspect, but that seems to be the case here, as a pet crematorium in Australia's Top End caught fire.
An exploding dog has been blamed for an overheating chimney which sparked an alert at a Darwin pet crematorium last night.
Emergency services were called to the crematorium after a passing motorist reported the premises were on fire.
In fact, the facility's chimney was ablaze, and once the authorities "confirmed flames were coming out of the flue", they called the owner.ABC's report splendidly concludes: "He revealed that a frozen dead dog in the furnace was the cause of the overheating chimney, as frozen dogs sometimes explode when cremated."
