Fire at Vancouver Bar Bimini's
A 3 Alarm fire has been sounded as the Popular Kitsilano Bar Bimini's. Fire crews are currently on location fighting the blaze. The fire and smoke are clearly visible from dowtown.
The fire broke out just before 7:30 this morning. The area on 4th Avenue between Arbutus and Maple have been closed, and will remain closed for the next few hours. There are no reports of any injuries and an investigation into the cause of the blaze is pending. The building was however undergoing renovations and that is one area that investigators will be looking into.
Update: The fire seems to have been contained for the moment, as crews are saying they have managed to keep it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Ryan Nadel is on the scene and has been providing updates. See here for the report from the scene. See here for photos from the scene.

optic, thanks for getting this story out so quickly. It will now show up on the home page for four hours. If new developments justify it, I'll renew this flag for another cycle.
