Massive Pile-Up on Ontario Freeway

Both southbound and northbound lanes of Highway 400 from Highway 9 to 89 are closed due to multi-vehicle collisions.

The pile-up began just before 1 p.m. today, said Const. Dave Woodford.

"There's just too many accidents and we don't want to take any chances."

The cause of the pile-up may be icy roads.

"People are travelling too quickly considering the weather conditions," Woodford said.
