Recycling Warehouse on Fire in Richmond BC

Anyone have any pictures?

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - Fire crews are struggling to get the upper hand on a stubborn warehouse fire in Richmond. The blaze at the Urban Impact Recycling Services on River Road broke out just after 5:30.

Cynthia Lockrey with the City of Richmond says it's been a tricky one for firefighters to tackle. She says there's significant damage to the actual building and the fire crews are in a defensive mode.

She says they're removing products from the building and they've managed to minimize the threat of the fire spreading to the surrounding buildings.

For now, River Road remains shut down between No. 4 Road and Shell Road. There were reports earlier some propane tanks may be inside the building but Lockrey isn't sure if that's actually the case.
