CALGARY -- One child was killed, another is in critical condition and another two are seriously hurt after their school bus hit the back of a gravel truck parked on a highway, ripping it open like a tin can Thursday morning.
The small bus, carrying 11 students between eight and 17 years old, ran into the truck on the shoulder of the Crowchild Trail just before 8:30 a.m.
"It appears the truck was parked well onto the shoulder," Calgary police duty Insp. Roger Chaffin said.
