Trapped Driver Freed From Under Truck
The female driver of a garbage truck was extricated after about an hour
underneath the cab of the truck after it flipped over while making a
turn in a residential area at 140th Avenue and Taft Street.Surgeons
were called to the scene to assess if they needed to perform an
amputation on the woman’s leg to free her from under the cab, but there
has been no confirmation if they did have to amputate her limb, Local
10 reported.A large tow truck was brought in to lift the truck up off
of the woman and wood blocks were placed under the cab to pull the
truck up in order to allow rescue teams to extricate her from
underneath the cab.
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (WSVN) — Fire rescuers are working to extricate a driver from an overturned dump truck at 140 Ave. and Taft Street.A group of surgeons are standing by in case the female driver might need her leg amputated, as, authorities say, it is pinned underneath the vehicle.
Several fire rescue teams responded to the accident to find the victim pinned in her cab. The truck tipped over on its driver’s side, and her leg got caught underneath.
With no passenger-side door on the dump truck, which is usually a standard on these kinds of vehicles, rescuers are finding it challenging to get the victim out.
