PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (WSVN) — Fire rescuers are working to extricate a driver from an overturned dump truck at 140 Ave. and Taft Street.A group of surgeons are standing by in case the female driver might need her leg amputated, as, authorities say, it is pinned underneath the vehicle.
Several fire rescue teams responded to the accident to find the victim pinned in her cab. The truck tipped over on its driver’s side, and her leg got caught underneath.
With no passenger-side door on the dump truck, which is usually a standard on these kinds of vehicles, rescuers are finding it challenging to get the victim out.
The female driver of a garbage truck is trapped underneath the cab after the truck flipped over while making a turn in a residential area at 140th Avenue and Taft Street.
Surgeons are on the scene to assess if they may need to perform an amputation on the woman’s leg to free her from under the cab, Local 10 reported.Fire and rescue could be seen from Sky 10 cutting off sections of the roof of the truck to peel it back in order to extricate the woman.
