UPDATE:
From UBC's website:
As of 4 pm today, the RCMP has confirmed that the threat received earlier this week at the University does not extend beyond today. As a result, normal activities will continue at the Point Grey campus on Thursday, February 7. Classes and all other regularly scheduled activities will resume at the Biosciences Building.
-------
Vancouver RCMP have released a press release indicating UBC has received another threat:
The RCMP is investigating a further threat to UBC. The threat is less specific in nature than the threat received last week, but the tone is similar in that the individual is threatening to carry out the threat made last week.
In this case, the threat does not specify a location within the UBC Point Grey campus or the method of doing harm but does specify Wednesday as the day of the threat[...]
[...]The RCMP is maintaining an enhanced Point Grey campus presence. Due to the general and non-specific nature of the threat, and on the advice of the RCMP, The UBC campus will remain open on Wednesday February 6, 2008.
Both the university and the RCMP want to ensure that the community is aware of the potential threat so that they can remain vigilant.
Investigators cannot ascertain with any precision the level of danger or whether any danger exists, but are continuing to vigorously pursue the investigation into both threats.
From UBC President Toope:
However, because of the specific mention of the Biosciences building in the threatening message received last week[click here for NowPublic coverage], and the traumatic experience of the occupants who endured a full lockdown of the building at that time, classes will be cancelled tomorrow (Wednesday) in the Biosciences Building.
Some MSM Coverage:
The tone of the message was similar to last week's message, which
CTV reported was an e-mail threat from a man who threatened to kill
himself and others in the building."This particular threat was less in nature... but the individual
threatened to carry out the threat he made last week," said Annie
Linteau of the RCMP.
RCMP Const. Annie Linteau said another threatening call was received
Tuesday, indicating that the previous threat would be carried out on
Wednesday.Linteau said police believe both threats came from the same person.
In the latest incident, the caller did not specify a location within
the UBC Point Grey campus or the method of doing harm, but did say
Wednesday would be the day threats would be carried out.

I think this is an important story and would benefit from other NowPublic contributors working on it. I've flagged it as News Wanted and invite others in relevant locations to look for more evidence.

Good Stuff, Science Dave. I have been following your UBC coverage since last week.

This threat has not targeted any particular building which I think is also rather worrying. UBC also held a press conference at 3pm yet did not email the staff or students until 7pm, long after most of us had left. I really think it is about time they told us what the "threat" actually is.

Yes, I agree that the veil needs to be lifted.

I totally agree. And furthermore- the fact that school is even proceeding as usual is stunning me. The schools in the states only wish they had had a warning like this one. I don't know if I feel comfortable going to school tomorrow. It is extremely hard to prepare for a threat such as this.

I feel the same. It's not a nice thought to go to work wondering
whether you are going to the target of "something". It would help if
we knew actually what to look for. Not to make light of the situation but it could be an old lady with a knitting needle rage for all I know :)
Also just reading thew new parts further up...this is the first time we have heard it was a call?
