Hótel Glymur popular among celebrities

British actors Emma Thomson and Stephen Fry are planning an extensive screenplay writing course at Hótel Glymur in the Hvalfjördur fjord in southwest Iceland late this year.

One of the hotel’s two owners, Hansína B. Einarsdóttir, told Fréttabladid that Thomson and Fry are currently organizing the course in cooperation with Icefusion.com, Hótel Glymur’s main cooperative in London.

According to Einarsdóttir, the British actors are planning a series of presentations and workshops on how to write screenplays for movies at the hotel at the end of this year.

Einarsdóttir said they picked Hótel Glymur because Hvalfjördur is peaceful and quiet and located only 90 minutes away from the international airport in Keflavík.

Other prominent people of the international entertainment industry have also picked the hotel as their destination, such as the musical writers Chesney Hawk and Tim Rice, and Yoko and Sean Lennon.
