 New York, NY:-

Self proclaimed “King Of The Dancehall”, Beenie Man is quietly gathering the ammunition to shutter critics once an for all with a stealth album entitled, “Concept Of Life”.

Initially released exclusively for the French market by Cornershop Records, the album has quietly commanded record shops and online outlets through Europe and UK. In 2006, it was repackaged by Nocturne for the Far East market and later distributed throughout the Pacific by  The P.I.D imprint.

Now in 2007, the album hits the North American market next week with its original 2005 cover and three new tracks, plus one bonus “brawta” if the album is purchased as an MP3 download.

The album features a host of collaborations including Dancehall legends U-Roy, John Holt, ex-stable mates, Razeir Brown, Don Mafia and Dancehall Pop group Voicemail.

Feedback from industry members within North American who have previewed the album, comment that this album may be one of Beenie Man’s most understated works, but has the potential to be his best.

Beenie Man was signed to Virgin Records in 1998 on the strength of the Billboard charting single Who Am I (Zim Zimma). Under the deal, he released Art & Life, Tropical Storm, Back To Basics, and Undisputed.

Art & Life has been the most commercially successful, having sold 404,932 copies to date, according to Nielsen Soundscan. Tropical Storm has sold 282,976, while Back To Basics, which contained the Billboard charting singles Dude and King Of The Dancehall, sold a paltry 165,311 copies. Undisputed, which rocketed to the top of the Billboard Reggae Album chart (a similar feat accomplished by all the albums he released under Virgin), has to date sold 61,420 copies in the US.

Combined unit sales for his latest venture throughout the eastern region, has purportedly hit over 100,000 copies.

Will this be the undisputed comeback?. Who knows.

The new album “Concept Of Life”, will be widely available throughout North America and the greater Caribbean, December 11, 2007.

It is available now online via www.unitedreggae.com.
