Laugh 'til it hurts... comedian/actor Dane Cook set a new record at Los Angeles' Laugh Factory comedy club, even ordering in food to keep his audience with him.
Dane Cook broke a Laugh Factory endurance record set less than a month ago by Dave Chappelle. In what is becoming a heated battle between the two comedians, Cook told jokes at the Sunset Strip comedy club for 7 hours, beating the record Chappelle, 34, set at 6 hours and 12 minutes in December.
On 1.1.2008 I hit the stage and walked off the morning of 1.2.2008 to bright skies. I never sat down or left the stage. The show started with a small mighty crowd of around 60 and 35 of us were together this morning still laughing and recapping 2007 with laughs galore. It felt fantastic. The longest set I have ever done before that was 3 hours 50 minutes at the LF as well. It's a historic club with so much positive energy. One of the best locations I have ever had the privilege of performing at.
I first encountered Cook's work at the cinema, discovering his stand-up a bit later. Most intriguing is the Super-Finger (Su-Fi* for short), which is a modified middle-finger gesture that Cook invented, now memed throughout the world.
