Don Cheadle was nominated for best leading actor for his role as a radio disc jockey in Talk To Me. Also nominated were Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Savages), Frank Langella (Starting Out in the Evening), Hong Kong veteran Tony Leung (Lust, Caution) and Pedro Castaneda (August Evening).
Foreign film nominees were Romania's 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, Israeli film The Band's Visit, Irish drama Once and Lady Chatterley Persepolis from France.
