Hammer is Back: Horror from Beyond the Rave
Hammer Films is back! The producer of classics such as Revenge of Frankenstein; The Hound of the Baskervilles ; Rasputin: the Mad Monk; Brides of Dracula; hell, over 190 different productions is bringing their scare wares to the web...
Beyond the Rave will be their first modern feature, and shall be distributed via a site with a suitably terrifying UI: MySpace! The cast includes several well-known British veterans of horror and action flicks.
Legendary Brit production company Hammer built its name on a string of genre pics released in the 1950s and 1960s under the Hammer House of Horror label.The new pic “Beyond the Rave” will be released in 20-minute online webisodes on MySpace TV and then be made available in its entirety on DVD to buy or download.
The youth-skewed vampire story set in England’s underground rave party scene follows a hedonistic soldier in his quest to track down his missing girlfriend in the last 24 hours before he flies to Iraq.
"After more than two decades of absence, Hammer Films returns
to horror with Beyond the Rave, an online serial that heralds
the resurgence of one of Britain’s best-loved film companies.
[...]
Drawing inspiration from the works of Bram Stoker and Anne
Rice as well as from eighties classics The Lost Boys and Near
Dark, Beyond the Rave, a vampire story set in England’s
underground party scene, is a combination of traditional
horror themes and contemporary setting and characters."

I'm a huge fan of Hammer Films' I'm actually writing my graduation thesis about Hammer's Dracula flicks. Haven't seen all the Beyond The Rave episodes yet, but as for now it's been a big let down for me. I was expecting something better ;__;
