This is cool for the fans I suppose, but a little lazy on the part of the band. If your job is to be an artist, pick up a pen and draw something on the cover.

12/19/2007 For many fans of music being a part of your favourite band is a pipedream at best, but if that band happens to be The Hives well this is definitely good news.

Swedish garage rock band The Hives want their fans to break out their creativity and design the sleeve artwork for their new single “We Rule The World (T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S.)” which will be released early in 2008.

The band is looking for submissions that encompass cutting edge graphics with a contemporary feel. The only specification is designs must be black and white. Submissions should work to a square format, be delivered at 300 dpi, by Jan 21, 2008 to thehivescoverart@googlemail.com.

The single will come in the form of a limited 10” vinyl featuring remixes from Matt Helders (The Arctic Monkeys) and Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs).

The Hives on scene plays the same song during one hour. But but but ... they are the best scene beasts of the world ! :)

At the Rock en Seine concert in St.Cloud, the Hives were definitely the band with the most energy.
