Madonna and Mellencamp among Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees

British band The Dave Clark Five and The Ventures, known for their California instrumental sound, were also named to the Cleveland, Ohio hall of fame that adds five music legends to its ranks each year, DPA reported.
Six-hundred musicians, recording industry executives and critics chose the inductees, who will be honoured at a gala in March at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York.
Nominees must have created their first album at least 25 years ago.
