The 'People's Choice Awards' Winners

The "People's Choice Awards" took on a new format this year as a result of the writers strike. Instead of the normal set-up with an audience and the winners taking to the stage, the nominees were presented through the use of clips and filmed acceptances.

Among the fan favorites were the stars of "Grey's Anatomy" -- KATHERINE HEIGL, PATRICK DEMPSEY and CHANDRA WILSON all scored awards -- and 'The Pirates of the Carribbean,' which won four awards, including Favorite Movie, Favorite Threequel, Favorite Female Action Star (KEIRA KNIGHTLEY) and Male Movie Star (JOHNNY DEPP).

Several of the filmed segments by the award winners included a shout out to the striking writers. JOAQUIN PHOENIX, who did a funny bit where he didn't speak but held up cue cards, and REESE WITHERSPOON were just two who paid homage to those who put words to paper.

QUEEN LATIFAH hosted the awards show, which aired on CBS, for the second year in a row.
