After touring every Canadian province, it's understandable that the White Stripes would be tired (lucky us Canucks!). It seems that the Great White North was proving too much for Meg; the Stripes are cancelling their US Tour due to her anxiety. As a Stripes fan, I hope it's nothing too serious. Get better Meg!

In a note posted on the band's official Web site on Tuesday, the White Stripes announced that their U.S. tour would be canceled due to health issues. Specifically, they explained, "Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time."

While a spokesperson for the band would not elaborate on whether the condition is newly diagnosed or give any further detail on the drummer's ailment, the news means that not only will they miss Saturday's set at the Austin City Limits Festival in Texas, but 17 other dates across the U.S., including scheduled two-night stands in Seattle (September 26-27) and Chicago (October 6-7).

lickyourheart, thanks for posting this--I too am a huge Stripes fan and am sad that Meg's not doing well. Their show here in June was amazing, and I hope she gets well soon.

Thanks as well for posting the new video for "You Don't Know What Love Is"--it was shot in Nunavut when Meg and Jack were there for their show in June (you might know this already). Great stuff.
