A 13-year-old boy has been named as a suspect in the California wildfire in the San Gabriel Mountains that burned 2,1000 acres, but luckily no homes.

Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. David Infante says his department asked prosecutors Wednesday to charge the boy with arson for the fire that started Aug. 25 in the Angeles National Forest and was contained Sept. 3 with no homes damaged.

The boy's name has not been released because he is a minor, and he is not in custody at this time. Charges are likely to be filed sometime today however.

This fire was the smaller of the two in the Angeles National Forest; the other one destroyed 89 homes, and is only now 91 per cent contained.
