People in Adelaide and Melbourne are experiencing a one-in-a-century heat wave. The last time there was a heat wave like this, with more than 6 days of >40 degrees was in 1908!
28-01-09 was the hottest day in 70 years with the mercury climbing to the top of 45.7 degrees.
I took these shots in Rundle Mall, Adelaide at around 1 pm (temp was about 45 degrees) and my camera was as hot as an oven. An ND400 filter (9 stops reduction) was used to be able to shoot directly into the sun.
